Vivacious Cape Town vocalist, lyricist & entertainer, SAMA nominee Lu Chase, has teamed up with French DJ & producer X aka Infrared, to create something altogether fresh!
Picture this: Live electronic duo consisting of a Producer/Musician and a Sassy Vocalist singing sophisticated electro, swing, jazz based melodies doing Burlesque routines and Fire dance.
 
L.U.X brings it, in an inspired and theatrically innovative stage presentation of Electro Swing, one of the fastest growing musical styles today.  Lu, previous Madame of popular Burlesque supper club Vaudeville, is very excited at the opportunity to showcase her theatrics on club stages world wide. As the only Burlesque artist in SA who sings while performing, she incorporates elements of her burlesque routines to this fabulous new creation, and her burlesque-inspired performances are uninhibited and fearless, yet sensually feminine.
 
Combining Swing, Jazz, Rock, Pop and Electro,  elemental Cirque, L.U.X is cutting-edge-modern, yet reminiscent  of the glamorous glitter strewn out -of -this world prohibition parties of the 40’s, transporting you to a time when the need to dance was imperative and charm  was essential!
 
The alluring and captivating Lu spins a web of glamour with her voice and seductive personality while mysterious X takes you on a vortex ride of musical genius. Lu has shared the stage with many international and national acts such as Fatboy Slim, The Audio Bullies, Goldfish, Little Louie Vega and his elements of Life as well as The Stereo Mc’s. With performances as far-flung as Bali, Surabaya, Italy, The Dominican Republic, and Russia, this dynamic entertainer has opened for international acts including Mo’Horizons, Seiji  (Bugs in the Attic ) & Soldiers of Twilight. And big South African names such as Vicky Sampson, Tasha Baxter, Goodluck and EJ Von Lyrik  
 
 X, with his cosmic record collection has pulled out some jewels and started inspired sampling of music that speaks of glamour and legends of a bygone era. His array of talents includes that of musician (guitar, bass, drums, keys, tambourine and vocals) show producer, sound engineer,  Dj, producer and showman sharing the stage with many big names such as  Andy Smith from Portishead, Demon and Gopher, Asian Dub foundation, Beleruche, Dj Food and world renowned electro jazz act, Jazzanova.

Since their conception they’ve performed at many prestigious events such as Calvin Klein’s “Shock” launch in CT, “MCQP”, “The lucky packet” with Goodluck, played alongside SAMA decorated Pop act Tasha Baxter on NYE 2011 and have featured on SA’s most popular magazine show “Top Billing” in Dec 2011. They’ve recently returned from the Seychelles where they wowed royalty.
