EUSTACE - TRUMPET / FLUGEL HORN / PERCUSSION

Eustace is an adaptable musician and instrumentalist - from freelancing and performing in different show bands, to teaching students how to play brass and woodwind instruments - endorsed by Yamaha South Africa since 2007.

Eustace started playing trumpet at 18 and then later joined the South African air force band where he played for 7 years. After the SAAF band he then began playing for the national chamber orchestra for 4 years before it closed down. He then went to join the Barnyard theatre and worked as a musician for them for 5 years.

Eustace is in huge demand and holds the following credentials – “Ad Hoc for National Symphony”; “Jonny Cooper Big Band”; “Big Band Blast”; “United Nations Orchestra”; “Carmen Opera Tour to Mozambique”; “Chamber Orchestra SA”; “Unisa International Piano Competition”, 3 musicals for the University of Johannesburg and 2 musicals at the State Theatre being, “Sound of Music” and “My Fair Lady”.

After taking 14 years of lessons with Robin Finlay, one of South Africa’s finest trumpeters, Eustace then began teaching trumpet - which he’s done so for 12 years - and has taught brass at St. Stithians and Pridwin Boy’s School and the East Rand School of the Arts where he instructed trumpet and alto sax.  He’s been teaching sax for 5 years and is in demand for his third instrument - Latin percussion.

At the moment, Eustace is freelancing and doing recordings for Hitman Music and has been working at Marshall Music in Woodmead for 5 years.
